DURHAM – The Duke wrestling program (6-8, 0-3 ACC) is set to conclude its non-conference schedule, traveling to Boiling Springs, N.C., for a dual match against Gardner-Webb (5-6, 3-2 SoCon) on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m.
Â
Wednesday's matchup will be broadcast via ESPN+.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
Duke fell in an ACC dual at No. 10 Virginia Tech, dropping a 42-3 decision on Friday, Feb. 4.
Â
The Blue Devils got a big win from junior
Wade Unger, who downed the 21st-ranked Connor Brady in a 4-3 decision. The Montvale, N.J., native scored a takedown with just under 10 seconds left to secure the come-from-behind victory.
Â
Unger's win was the highest ranked victory of his collegiate career, improving him to 11-13 on the season. It also headlines a breakout campaign for Unger, who has won two matches over ranked opponents this season and has the largest single-season win output of his career.

OPPONENT HISTORY
- The Blue Devils and Runnin' Bulldogs are set to meet for the first time in two years, with the Blue Devils leading the all-time series 29-3-1.
- The series has been played tremendously tight the past five meetings, with three one-point decisions between the two. Gardner-Webb won the last meeting, 20-19, on Feb. 5, 2020.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- Both Finesilver brothers carry national rankings via InterMat, with Josh Finesilver checking in at No. 14 in the nation at 149 pounds, while Matt ranks No. 16 in the 174-pound weight class.
- Redshirt senior Matt Finesilver is looking to secure his place in the top-10 all-time winning percentages at Duke. The Greenwood Village, Colo., native owns a career record of 71-22 (.763), which currently ranks in a statistical tie for 10th on Duke's all-time list with Chris Heckel.
- Several Blue Devils may earn rematches against their Gardner-Webb counterparts on Wednesday. At the Mountaineer Invitational in November, sophomore Logan Agin defeated Aeydn Concepcion by fall, while junior Jonah Niesenbaum downed Peyton McComas by a 12-4 major decision.
- Junior Vincent Baker dropped a narrow 5-3 decision to Jha'Quan Anderson in Boone but will look to bounce back in the same way he did against Appalachian State's Barrett Blakely. Baker lost to Blakely at the Mountaineer Invitational, but then beat him in the dual match in January.
- Both Finesilver brothers recently passed the 70-win threshold. Josh is now two away from 75, while Matt stands at 71 career victories.
- Redshirt senior Kaden Russell is closing in on 40 career victories. The Cleveland, Ohio, native stands at 37 in his career.
- The Blue Devils are ending their non-conference schedule after facing three-straight top-20 programs. The match is also the final regular season road trip, before travelling to Charlottesville, Va., for the ACC Championships.
