CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – Three Blue Devils recorded times that placed in the top-10 in program history Saturday during the second day of the Hokie Invitational in Christiansburg, Va.

Matthew Whelan clocked a 46.88 in the 100 butterfly to improve his fourth-place time in program history. Classmate
Zoe Lusk broke into the top-10 in program history in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.19.

Sophomore
Aleyna Ozkan continued to improve on her ninth-place time in program history after achieving the feat Friday. She opened the preliminaries on Saturday with a career-best time of 53.47.

Five other Blue Devils recorded career-best times on Saturday in juniors
Olivia Tighe (1:48.49 – 200 freestyle) and
Natasha Ong (1:51.65 – 200 freestyle) and rookies
Henry Batson (56.39 – 100 breaststroke),
Evan Greer (48.54 – 100 backstroke) and
Michael Volpe (55.47 – 100 breaststroke).

Duke will close out action at the Hokie Invitational Sunday morning, competing in the preliminaries. The Blue Devils are set for action in the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke and 200 butterfly.
