DURHAM – Duke track and field graduate student
Erin Marsh has been tabbed Duke's PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week, after collecting three medals at the 2022 ACC Indoor Championship this past weekend in Blacksburg, Va.
Marsh walked away from her last ACC Indoors Championship with gold medals in the women's 60m hurdles and women's 4x400m. Marsh clocked 8.17 seconds in the hurdles to collect the crown, marking her as the first Duke women's track athlete ever to be named ACC Champion in that event.
The Buford, Ga., native ran the second leg of Duke's winning 4x400m relay team that finished in 3:38.05 and earned 10 points to give the 25th-ranked women's team a share of the ACC Indoors title.
Marsh also took home a silver medal in long jump. She started the event with a bang registering a leap of 6.24m (20-5.75 feet) on her first jump, then topped it on her second jump that measured 6.27m (20-7 feet), tying
Sydnei Murphy's No. 2 all-time mark. Marsh's final jump was her best one as the final attempt saw her fly out to 6.32m (20-9 feet) and move into sole control of that No. 2 mark in program lore – one centimeter off the school record.
Several Blue Devils now await their fates on qualification for the NCAA Indoor Championships, hosted in Birmingham, Ala., March 11-12.
