DURHAM – The Duke fencing team is set to host the 2022 ACC Fencing Championship this weekend in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
SETTING THE SCENE
- This will be the eighth ACC Fencing Championship since fencing returned as a league-sponsored sport.
- Duke is the reigning champion on both the men's and women's sides. The men earned their second ACC title in 2021, while the women recorded their first.
- Duke is serving as the host for the league championship for the third time – 1974, 2017, and 2022.
- The sixth-ranked Duke men hold a 13-1 (1-0 ACC) regular-season record, while the 12th-ranked women are 10-6 (1-0 ACC).
- The men are set to compete against No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 9 North Carolina and Boston College. On the women's side, the Blue Devils will go against No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 14 North Carolina and Boston College.
- In addition to the team competition, an individual tournament will also be held to crown a champion in each weapon – foil, saber and epee.
- The meet will begin at 8 a.m., Saturday for the men's individual competition before the women's event kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Sunday's team portion will start with the men at 9:30 a.m., followed by the women at 1 p.m.

- The men's and women's individual semifinals and finals, as well as the team championship, will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra. Coverage of the men's semifinals and finals begins at noon on Saturday, while the women's semifinals and finals start at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Team finals coverage begins at 9:30 a.m.(men's) and 1 p.m. (women's) on Sunday.
- ACC Network will carry a tape-delayed broadcast of the individual finals at 8 p.m. Sunday. The men's team finals will re-air at 1 p.m. Monday, while the women's team finals will re-air at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
A LOOK BACK AT 2021
- The Blue Devils are coming off a highly successful 2021 ACC Championship season and look to carry that momentum into the weekend.
- Duke swept both ACC team titles and captured a program-record 11 individual medals as Duke won five of the six solo crowns. The team gold medal marked the second in men's program history and the first on the women's side.
- Nine of Duke's 11 individual medal winners return this season.
PARKING INFORMATION
- General Public Parking Information – General Public Parking will be available in Science Drive Garage (302 Science Drive, Durham, NC) located off NC 751/Cameron Blvd. All guests should use the garage main entrance off of NC 751 between Erwin Road and Science Drive for entry. Look for the general public parking signs marking the entrance. There is no charge to park. Science Drive Garage will open two hours prior to the start of competition each day.
- Accessible Parking for Guests with Disabilities – General Public Parking for guests with disabilities will be available in the Whitford Drive Lot (115 Whitford Drive, Durham, NC) throughout the championship. Please speak to the parking lot attendant for access. There is no charge to park. The lot opens two hours prior to the start of competition each day.
- Accessible Drop-off and Pick-Up Point for Guests with Disabilities – An accessible drop-off and pick-up point will be available on Whitford Drive (115 Whitford Drive, Durham, NC) throughout the championship. Please speak to the parking lot attendant for access.
