DURHAM – A successful week at the 2022 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships produced two ACC titles, five All-ACC honors, seven school records and 42 top-10 times in program history.

Freshman
Margo O'Meara highlighted the week by being named the ACC Championship Women's Diving MVP taking gold in both the one-meter (354.75) and platform diving (324.95) events. The St. Louis, Mo., native also placed fourth in the three-meter competition with a score of 367.10. She is the fourth Blue Devil to earn the honor, joining
Evan Moretti (2019),
Abby Johnston (2010, 2011) and
Nick McCrory (2010, 2011, 2013, 2014).

O'Meara was not the only Blue Devil to excel on the boards over the five-day meet, as sophomore
Seamus Harding Jr., also earned All-ACC honors in platform diving. The first honor of his career, Harding Jr., finished second in the event with a score of 376.30. The sophomore also qualified for the finals of three-meter diving by scoring a 320.40 in the preliminaries.

Sophomore
Sarah Foley shined in the meet, reaching the finals in all three individual events that she competed in. Foley placed second in both the 200 freestyle (1:43.85) and 200 individual medley (1:54.47) to earn the first All-ACC honors of her career, just a spot behind Olympic medalist Alexandra Walsh. She also placed fourth in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:06.63 finish. All three times were school records and her mark in the 200 freestyle currently ranks in the top-20 nationally.

Foley was leadoff in the 800 freestyle relay on Tuesday night and set the strong tone with her program-record mark in the 200 freestyle. Foley, freshman

McKenna Smith touched in 7:05.32 in the event to break the record.

Also on the women's side, the quartet of junior
Emma Shuppert, Foley, sophomore
Aleyna Ozkan and rookie
McKenna Smith set the program record in the 400 medley relay with a mark of 3:32.70.

The men's program also recorded a pair of school records in relay events. In the 200 freestyle relay, juniors
Coleman Kredich,
Charlie Gingrich and
Brad Sanford and sophomore
Zach McIntyre tallied the fastest time in program history at 1:17.86. The same foursome did it again in the 400 freestyle, touching in 2:52.71.

Of the 42 top-10 times recorded at the ACC Championships, 25 placed inside the top-5 in program history. The times were nearly evenly split between the women and men, 22 and 20, respectively.

Duke returns to action on Friday at the UNC Last Chance Meet in Chapel Hill, N.C., for final preparations for the NCAA Championship.
