Duke field hockey head coach
Pam Bustin is excited to announce the 2022 Blue Devil freshman class this spring. Over the coming weeks, we will profile each of the incoming Blue Devils. This week, we introduce
Brynn Crouse.
"I am counting down the days until I get to officially work with
Brynn Crouse," said Bustin. "She is a passionate player with a strong will to win. Her dedication to the game began at a young age with Central Penn FH Club, which prepared her for a four-year starting role with her Northern York High School varsity team. I believe that with Duke field hockey's consistent high-level training, her game will soar to greater heights. Her attention to detail, great skill, and instinct along with her natural athletic ability make her one of the best!"
A MAX Field Hockey All-America second-team selection, Crouse was a four-year letterwinner at Northern York High School. She finished her scholastic career with 107 goals and 45 assists for 259 points. A standout throughout her career at Northern York, the native of Dillsburg, Pa., garnered Mid-Penn All-Star first team honors all four years and was an All-Sentinel first team choice her final three seasons.
Crouse was voted the Sentinel Player of the Year her junior year and was a Class 2A All-State first-team honoree for three seasons.
Crouse led Northern York in scoring all four years and was Mid-Penn's points leader her senior year with 96 from 38 goals and 20 assists. She garnered the Northern York Most Valuable Player award as a sophomore, junior and senior and served as team captain her senior year. Crouse played her club hockey with Central Penn Field Hockey and is ranked as a top 50 incoming player by MAX Field Hockey.
Crouse also lettered for three years for the Northern York lacrosse team and was the team's most valuable player and leading scorer as a junior. She is a member of the National Honor Society and National Spanish Honors Society.

Best field hockey memory: This past fall when my high school team beat our rivals in the first round of districts in overtime to continue to play offs. We had been in an overall losing record to them, so it meant a lot to beat them when it mattered most. Nothing beats overtime wins!
