DURHAM – The Duke swimming and diving program returns home to the Taishoff Aquatics Center on Friday evening, hosting South Carolina. The meet is set to begin with diving at 4 p.m. and swimming at 5 p.m. The Blue Devils' women enter the meet at 2-0 on the year, most recently defeating UNCW 187-107 on Oct. 29. The Duke men picked up their first victory of the season, improving to 1-1, defeating the Seahawks, 181-110 last Saturday.
NOTEABLES
- The South Carolina women's team enters Friday ranked No. 23 in the country by the CSCAA, posting a 2-1 record on the season.
- Junior Sarah Foley, freshman Kaelyn Gridley and Martina Peroni have combined for seven NCAA-B cuts through the first two meets of the year.
- Junior diver Seamus Harding Jr. swept both the one and three-meter diving events at UNCW last weekend, posting a 309.30 score in the one-meter event and a 332.33 in the three-meter event. His one-meter score was the best of the season for Harding Jr., collecting another zone score, while his three-meter dive was good enough for his second zone score of the season.
- Foley and Gridley battled it out in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking times with the freshman Gridley taking the top spot on the podium. Foley finished with a time of 1:01.36 in the event to earn a NCAA-B cut time.
- Senior Matthew Knox swam his best time of the season in the 200-yard freestyle last weekend, logging a 1:40.86.
