GREENSBORO - Duke swimming and diving concluded the first day of competition at the NC State Invite competing in five different events and two relays. Junior
Sarah Foley was less than four-tenths from breaking her own school record in the 200-yard IM to kick off a successful evening in the pool for the Blue Devils. Duke collected six more NCAA B-cut times on Thursday, to bring the early season total to 17.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Foley clocked a time of 1:54.74 in the 200-yard IM, nearly breaking her own school record of 1:54.47, collecting the second fastest time in program history.
- The Blue Devils' men's 200-yard freestyle relay team consisting of Coleman Kredich, Charlie Gingrich, Brad Sanford and Jack Christian posted a time of 1:20.22 in the pool, the fastest this season by more than a full second.
- Junior Catherine Purnell posted the fastest 500-yard freestyle time this season on the women's side for the Blue Devils, clocking a time of 4:45.65. Her efforts were fifth all-time in Duke history.
- Junior Catherine Belyakov and freshman Martina Peroni both posted NCAA B-Cut times in the 200-yard IM. Belyakov posted the seventh fastest time in program history (1:58.84), while Peroni clocked the third fastest time in history (1:58.12).
- Graduate student Cole Reznick tallied the best 200-yard IM for the Blue Devils this season, eighth all-time in program history (1:47.22).
- Senior Brad Sanford clocked the fastest time on the men's side for the Blue Devils in the 50-yard freestyle this season (20.29).
- In the 50-yard freestyle, senior Sarah Snyder earned a NCAA B-cut and posted the fastest time this season for the Blue Devils, swimming a time of 22.71. The tally was also eighth all-time in program history.
- Freshman Tatum Wall finished just behind Snyder in the 50-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 22.97, ninth all-time in program history and second this season.
- The women's 400-yard medley relay team of Emma Shuppert, Kaelyn Gridley, Alenya Ozkan and Foley, posted the second fastest time in program history, swimming a time of 3:33.03 and earning a NCAA B-cut.
