GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke wrestling redshirt senior
Josh Finesilver has been named the ACC's Co-Wrestler of the Week, as the league announced on Tuesday.
Â
Finesilver joins teammate
Kaden Russell as ACC Wrestler of the Week honorees this season. A team captain, Finesilver was also recently named PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week.
Â
A native of Greenwood Village, Colo., Finesilver became just the second Blue Devil in program history to take home a title at the prestigious Southern Scuffle, joining two-time winner
Jacob Kasper (2017 & 2018). The title was also his second of the season, after winning a title at the Battle at The Citadel in November.
Â
Finesilver went 5-0 on the weekend, improving to 21-1 overall and extending his winning streak to 16 straight matches. In the title match, Finesilver took home a thrilling 11-10 decision over 22nd-ranked Josh Edmond of Missouri, capping off a 5-0 weekend with his highest ranked victory of the season.
Â
The Blue Devils are back in action on Jan. 13, hosting Appalachian State at 7 p.m.
