Finesilver Selected PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week

DURHAM – Wrestling redshirt senior Josh Finesilver has been tabbed as Duke's PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week, following his title winning performance at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Sunday evening.
Finesilver became just the second Blue Devil in program history to win a title at the Southern Scuffle, joining Jacob Kasper who won two titles in 2017 and 2018. The Greenwood Village, Colo., native went 5-0 on the weekend, improving to 21-1 on the season and has now won 16 straight matches.
Finesilver finished off the title with a thrilling 11-10 decision over Missouri's Josh Edmond, who came into the match as the No. 22 wrestler in the nation at 149 pounds. Earning a point for riding time at the end of the match to break a 10-10 stalemate, the 7th-ranked Finesilver earned his highest ranked victory of the season and his second title after winning one at the Battle at The Citadel in November.
Duke wrestling returns to dual match action on Jan. 13, hosting Appalachian State at 7 p.m.
