DURHAM – Six members of the Duke men's lacrosse team have been named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America teams, the organization announced Jan. 20. The Blue Devils are tied for the second most honorees of all programs recognized.

Duke's six selections are behind the eight choices from Maryland and the seven out of Georgetown. The Blue Devils and Notre Dame both were represented with six, while North Carolina, Virginia and Loyola had five.
A USILA All-America first-team choice last season, Montgomery returns as the leader to Duke's midfield. He enters the season with 58 goals and 48 assists for his career, following his career-best 22 assists in 2021. A native of Dallas, Texas, Montgomery has played in 60 games for his career and started 36 of those. Montgomery registered three-plus assists three times last season and own six such efforts in his career.
A USILA All-America third team pick as a sophomore, Carpenter looks to build on his breakout season. The Durham native played both long stick midfield and close defense a year ago and was crucial to Duke's success at the faceoff. He collected 72 ground balls and led the squad in caused turnovers with 23 takeaways. Carpenter also added two goals and an assist on offense. For his career, Carpenter has played in 25 games and owns 95 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers.
O'Neill looks to build on his fantastic rookie season in which he finished second on the team in scoring with 45 goals and 10 assists for 55 points and earned honorable mention All-America accolades. He scored at least one point in all 17 games and had nine hat tricks. Voted 2021 ACC Freshman of the Year by the league's coaches, O'Neill was lethal on extra man for the Blue Devils, scoring nine man-up goals.
He ranked first among all freshmen nationally in goals per game (2.65) and was second in the ACC and 18th nationally in overall goals.
Brower, selected as one of four team captains this season, will be the leader of the defensive unit in 2022 after learning from All-America defenseman
JT Giles-Harris the past two seasons. A starter in all 17 games last season, the Massapequa, N.Y., native was third on the team with 11 caused turnovers and ranked fifth among non-faceoff players in ground balls with 21. Drawing the opponent's top attackman on occasions, Brower had at least one ground ball in 13 games and registered five caused turnovers in the three NCAA Tournament games last season.
Entering his second season as a Blue Devil, Adler returns to the cage after a stellar first campaign in Durham. The native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., arrived at Duke following a standout career at Saint Joseph's
and didn't miss a beat. Adler started 16 of 17 games for the Blue Devils, finishing with a 10.22 goals against average and a .529 save percentage. He made double-digit saves in 10 games, including collecting a season-high 17 in a home victory over North Carolina. Adler has played in 52 career games and enters the 2022 season as the active leader in saves (588) and minutes played (174,898).
An honorable mention selection as a freshman last season, Naso aims to add to his impressive numbers as a rookie. He won 63 percent of his faceoffs (227-of-361) and picked up 133 ground balls, both of which are Duke freshman records. Naso's .629 win percentage at the dot was the best in the ACC and 10th nationally. He also scored three goals and dished two assists in his rookie season.
The Blue Devils open the season Feb. 4 against Robert Morris. Faceoff is set for 5 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium. Season tickets are currently available for purchase with single-game tickets coming soon. Duke plays 10 home games this season, including six in the month of February.
