VERONA, N.Y. – The Duke men's golf team opens its 2021-22 season in the 12th annual Turning Stone Intercollegiate on Labor Day weekend. The 54-hole tournament is set for Sunday and Monday at the Kaluhyat Golf Club and is hosted by the University of Missouri.
Sunday's first round is underway at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start followed by the second round at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Monday's final round is also underway at 8 a.m. The Kaluhyat GC will play as a par 72 at 6,803 yards. Live scoring for the event is available at golfstat.com.
The Blue Devils' five-man lineup for the Turning Stone Intercollegiate is comprised of all first- and second-year players with sophomores
Jimmy Zheng and
Cameron Martinez-Piedra alongside freshmen
Kelly Chinn,
Luke Sample and
John Peters. Graduate student
Qi wen Wong and sophomore
Daniel Uranga will play individually.
The 15-team field includes Duke, along with host Missouri, Mount St. Mary's, Cleveland State, Niagara, Binghamton, Boston College, Youngstown State, Penn State, Towson, Canisius, Delaware, LSU, Sacred Heart and St. Francis.
Duke is paired with Sacred Heart and Mount St. Mary's for Saturday's action.
The Turning Stone Intercollegiate is the first of four events scheduled this fall for the Blue Devils. Next weekend, Duke hosts the
Rod Myers Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Duke University Golf Club.
