NEWTON, Iowa – Duke wrestling redshirt senior
Josh Finesilver has been named to
WIN Magazine's preseason individual rankings, as the publication announced on Wednesday. Finesilver was tabbed as the No. 16 wrestler in the country in his 149-pound weight class.
Â
Finesilver has now been ranked by two publications in their 2021-22 preseason metrics, after previous being ranked No. 11 in the same weight class by InterMat.
Â
Finesilver is a three-time NCAA qualifier who was the Blue Devils lone representative at the NCAA Championship in 2021. In a modified 2021 schedule, Finesilver went 9-5 overall, going 3-2 in the ACC. The Greenwood Village, Colo., native defeated three ranked wrestlers last year, for the most in a single season in his collegiate career, with all coming at the NCAA Championship. Over his three seasons on the mat, Finesilver has recorded a 51-37 ledger, finishing third at the ACC Championship on two occasions.
Â
The Blue Devils will open the 2021-22 regular season at the Battle of The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., on Nov. 6.
