DURHAM – Fresh off back-to-back wins over ranked opponents, Duke men's soccer (5-1-0, 2-0-0 ACC) will complete a two-game road trip and with a clash against Syracuse (4-3-1, 1-1-0 ACC) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Blue Devils are aiming to start the season 6-1-0 for the first time since 2006, when the team started 6-0-1. Saturday's game will be broadcast on ACCNX.
Last Time Out
- Duke rode two goals in the first 14 minutes to a 3-0 win at No. 16 North Carolina on Sunday night.
- The Blue Devils were led by the first collegiate goals from freshman Shakur Mohammed and sophomore Amir Daley, while junior Scotty Taylor scored his first of the season.
- Sunday's win marked the first time the Blue Devils have defeated the Tar Heels by multiple goals since a 4-0 victory on Nov. 12, 1999.
- The three-goal win was also the largest margin of victory in Chapel Hill since a 6-2 win on Oct. 5, 1997.
- With the Duke women's soccer team beating North Carolina on Friday night and the men's team winning on Sunday, it marked the first time both programs have beaten the Tar Heels in the same season in Duke Athletics history.
- Senior Eliot Hamill added another shutout, with his fourth of the season and the sixth of his career, as he tallied six saves in the win.

- The Orange play host to the Blue Devils with a 4-3-1 record, coming off a 1-1 draw with Cornell on Tuesday.
- In its last ACC game, the Orange played a thriller with Louisville, falling 5-4 in double overtime, in a game that started with four straight penalty kick goals in the first 28 minutes.
- Leading the way for the Orange is one of the top players in the ACC, DeAndre Kerr. Kerr has performed all season, recording seven goals and two assists in just seven games for a team leading 16 points.
- Head coach Ian McIntyre leads the Orange in his 11th season at the helm. McIntyre recently recorded his 100th win with the Orange and has led the team to double the wins of last season's team.

- The Blue Devils and Orange will meet for the seventh time, with the series tied at 3-3-0.
- Duke has won two straight games in the series, with the last win coming on Oct. 4, 2019, when the Blue Devils rolled to a 4-0 win in Durham.
- In the 2019 game, senior Ian Murphy scored what proved to be the game winner for his first goal of the season.
What to Watch For
- The Blue Devils are aiming to start an ACC campaign with a 3-0 record for the first time 2004. That season, the Blue Devils reached the NCAA College Cup semifinals.
- In addition, the Blue Devils have won all five of their games via a shutout. That is the most since 2004, when the team won its first seven games with a clean sheet.
- Duke has had at least one All-ACC honoree in every season since 1976, including every year of Kerr's tenure.
- Hamill heads to Syracuse off the most decorated week of his collegiate career. Hamill was named the CollegeSoccerNews National Player of the Week, named to their Team of the Week and was honored as the ACC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
- Hamill, the Scarsdale, N.Y., native, ranks near the top of nearly every major statistic in the country, ranking second in the nation in save percentage (0.957, behind San Diego State's Jacob Castro), third in goals against average (0.193) and sixth in shutouts (four). Hamill also leads the ACC in all those categories.
- The Blue Devils rank 10th in the nation in goal differential, outscoring opponents 12-1 over the first six games.
- The Blue Devils' offense has been aggressive to start the season, averaging 16.33 shots per game and recording 20 or more shots in three games. The 16.33 shots per game ranks 18th in the nation, with Conor Kelly leading the team with 14 shots.
- Murphy needs to start two more games to reach 50 starts in his collegiate career.
