Duke Features 13 on CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke swimming and diving programs featured 13 student-athletes on the 2020-21 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team, as announced by the organization Tuesday.

Duke saw 10 or more student-athletes named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team for the sixth consecutive season.

To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and achieved a 'B' time standard or competed at the NCAA Championships or Zone Diving qualifier.

Duke women led the way as Sarah Foley, Maddi Pullinger, Catherine Purnell, Emma Shuppert and Cabell Whitlow represented the women's squad on the first team. Shuppert earned All-America honors in the 100 backstroke with a school record time (51.89) while all five women competed at the NCAA Championships in March.

Eight other student-athletes received Scholar All-America honorable mention honors from the CSCAA for the 2020-21 campaign, including Harel Anolick, Charlie Gingrich, David Hallaron, Emily Lenihan, Kate Mullin, Kayle Park, Rachel Peroni and Cole Reznick.

Anolick and Whitlow each earned their third honors of their careers and Mullin, Park, Pullinger, Reznick and Shuppert were named to the team for a second time.

Foley, Pullinger, Purnell, Shuppert and Winslow were also garnered All-ACC Academic accolades for the 2020-21 season.

Two weeks ago, the CSCAA named the Duke men's and women's squads to its Scholar All-America team for the spring 2021 semester.
