DURHAM – Duke women's soccer rising senior
Delaney Graham has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III First Team for the 2020-21 season, the College Sports Information Directors of America recently announced.
Graham earned a CoSIDA All-District honor for the first time in her career. She is one of seven players from the ACC to garner All-District recognition across the five districts in which the conference is represented. Virginia had three selections, while North Carolina collected two and Louisville netted one. All first-team selections move on to the national ballot for Academic All-America status, which will be released Monday, July 5.
A native of Atlanta, Ga., Graham started 18-of-19 matches this past season, contributing as a defender and forward throughout her junior campaign. Offensively, she posted two goals – which were scored in back-to-back games in October – and her five assists were tied for second on the team. She served as a key member of Duke's defensive corps that registered 12 clean sheets and nine shutout wins, which both ranked second in the ACC for the season. She closed out the fall portion of the season with All-ACC Third Team honors, and was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team at the end of the spring campaign.
Now entering her fourth year with the Duke program, the biology major owns an impressive 3.93 GPA and has collected a number of recognitions for her efforts in the classroom, including a spot on the 2020 ACC Honor Roll and ACC All-Academic status in 2018 and 2019. She was also named to the Dean's List in the fall of 2018 and spring of 2019.
