DURHAM, N.C. – Graduate transfer
Justin Sodokoff will join the Duke swimming & diving team, head coach
Dan Colella announced on Thursday.
Â
Sodokoff will come to Duke after a stellar career at Dartmouth where he earned numerous honors and awards. He was a third-generation student at Dartmouth after following his father and grandfather's footsteps. Unfortunately, his senior season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Â
The Greenwich, Conn., native had a breakout junior season, being named the team's Ron Keenhold Outstanding Diver Award and earning CSCAA All-American honors on both springboards. He set school and pool records and earned NCAA Zone cuts on both boards (386.55 in the 1-meter and 392.50 in the 3-meter) in the same meet against Bates. Sodokoff placed top-8 in both boards at the Ivy League Championships and the Zone A Diving Championships, but the NCAAs were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Â
During his first two seasons, he competed on both boards at the Ivy League Championships. He gathered 10 first-place finishes between the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions during his freshman and sophomore seasons. He also received the team's diving award as a rookie.
Â
Prior to collegiate diving, Sodokoff was a three-time letter winner in diving at Greenwich. He was an All-American and the FCIAC champion.
