DURHAM –Duke earned the No. 2 overall seed in the 2021 Men's Lacrosse NCAA Tournament as announced live Sunday night on ESPNU. The Blue Devils will play High Point in the first round at Dorrance Field on the campus of North Carolina May 16 at 5 p.m. All first-round contests will be televised on ESPNU.
Duke, earning its 24th NCAA Tournament appearance, is the No. 2 overall seed for the third time in program history with the two other times being in 2005 and 2019. The Blue Devils have been a top three seed eight times in their 24 tournament appearances. Duke sports a 38-20 record in NCAA Tournament action and has advanced to the semifinals 12 times and ultimately won three NCAA titles. The Blue Devils are 17-6 in first-round action and 5-2 overall as the No. 2 seed.
Duke will take on the Panthers, which earned the automatic bid as the winners of the Southern Conference with an 11-8 win over Richmond. The Blue Devils defeated High Point, 27-8, during the regular season matchup in Durham.
The Blue Devils enter postseason play with a 12-2 overall record with losses coming on the road against No. 1 seed North Carolina and No. 6 seed Notre Dame.

Nakeie Montgomery is the top midfield scorer with 14 goals and 20 assists and joins Robertson as the top current Blue Devil scorer in NCAA Tournament action with 20 points in his seven outings.

Mike Adler. Giles-Harris has 24 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers, while sophomore
Tyler Carpenter has been outstanding in playing both around the crease and at LSM with 60 ground balls and 19 takeaways. Adler has a 9.98 goals against average and a .538 save percentage.
Freshman
Jake Naso has been exceptional at the faceoff X, winning 190-of-302 for a .629 win percentage. He has won at least 10 faceoffs in 11 games this season.
The winner between Duke and High Point advance to the quarterfinals to face either No. 7 seed Denver or Patriot League champion Loyola at Notre Dame the following Sunday.
