DURHAM, N.C. – Following a historic 2021 season, the Duke fencing team garnered five of six ACC Fencer of the Year Awards, as announced by the conference office Friday.
Huda Aldadah (epee),
Alex Gorman (saber),
Finn Hossfeld (foil),
Stephen Kim (saber) and
Zoe Superville (foil) captured individual awards for the Blue Devils.
Additionally, head coach
Alex Beguinet was named ACC Women's Coach of the Year, marking the fourth time he has received the honor and second time on the women's side.
Duke captured the ACC team titles on both sides as the women swept their awards, which are determined by a vote of the league's coaches.
In addition to the team titles, Aldadah, Gorman, Hossfeld, Kim and Superville all captured individual gold medals in their respective weapons at the ACC Championship. The 2021 season marks the first Fencer of the Year accolade for these five Blue Devils.
