DURHAM, N.C. – After tallying three victories at the NCAA Championship, redshirt junior
Josh Finesilver has been named to the All-ACC Academic Team, as the conference announced on Wednesday.
The Greenwood Village, Colo., native and evolutionary anthropology major polished off a season that saw him go 9-5 overall and 3-4 against top-25 opponents with several marquee victories at the NCAA Championship. One of those wins was a win by fall (2:50) against No. 5 Ridge Lovett of Nebraska. The victory was the first top-5 win by a Duke wrestler at the NCAA Championship since
Jacob Kasper defeated No. 5 Sam Stoll in the 2018 consolation semifinals.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.Â
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
