Get In Formation
- Matthias Frick and Ian Murphy are the seasoned veterans who anchor the defense. Frick is the leader at center back, while Murphy holds down the left sides. Rookie Antino Lopez solidifies the middle with Frick and Amir Daley holds down the right side.
- Duke's midfield is a talented group, but young in spots. Veteran Jack Doran has returned to the middle of the field as a steady force for the Blue Devils, while senior Stephen O'Connell is a threat from the left side. Joining Doran in the middle is freshman Lewis McGarvey as a holding midfielder. Outstanding in the air, McGarvey joins rookie playmaker and workhorse Peter Stroud as the creator. Stroud is a dynamic player who runs for days and also will play as a withdrawn forward to help fuel the offense. Freshman Nick Pariano is Duke's super sub, coming off the bench and making an immediate impact. Nicolas Macri, a graduate student with 30 games experience, is strong running down the right side.
- Up top, rookie Thorleifur Ulfarsson is the featured striker, while Scotty Taylor will come off the bench. Stroud can push high as well to help create dangerous looks in the offensive third.
