DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 14 Duke field hockey team is set to host No. 9 Syracuse for an ACC matchup on Saturday, March 27. The game is slated for a noon start at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.

HISTORY WITH THE ORANGE
Syracuse leads Duke in the all-time series, 8-2, and have won the last three matches. The two teams played twice in the fall, meeting at a neutral site in Virginia Beach, Va., and in the ACC Quarterfinals in Chapel Hill. The Orange edged the Blue Devils both times, winning 4-3 on Oct. 10 and outlasted Duke in overtime, 3-2, on Nov. 5.

SCOUTING SYRACUSE
The Orange enter Saturday's conference matchup with a 7-4 overall record, including a 2-0 mark in the 2021 portion of their schedule. Saturday's game will be the first ACC contest for Syracuse this spring. Syracuse is led offensively by Charlotte de Vries and SJ Quigley as both players have 10 points on the season. De Vries has taken a team-high 33 shots which ranks fourth in the league. Emily Streib has played all 120 minutes in the cage this spring, picking up for saves for a 2-0 record.

SCHOLARS OF DISTINCTION
In the company of more than 250 student-athletes, three Blue Devils were named NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction as freshmen
Alayna Burns and
Morgan Fletcher and junior
Leah Crouse received recognition. To receive the honor, student-athletes must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher during the fall semester. The last time Duke had three on the list was in 2015.
