What is your favorite rowing memory?
EW: My favorite rowing memory is winning the Girls U19 race in the V8 at Canadian Henley. It was an amazing moment with my teammates.
Why did you choose to row for Duke?
EW: When I first visited Duke, I immediately noticed how supportive and dedicated the team and coaches are on and off the water. I am excited about the rowing and academic opportunities that Duke offers and can't wait to contribute to the university.
What impact do you plan to make in your four years?
EW: I want to help the team win the NCAA Championships. I want to be a strong member of the team who supports others and inspires others to work hard.
What stuck out to you about the team in your decision making process?
EW: The team seemed so positive and tight-knit. The coaches and girls were so welcoming when I came on my visit. I could see myself as a part of the team.
What was something about Duke/Durham that surprised you?
EW: On my visit, I had the opportunity to watch a Duke basketball game. I knew Duke would have a lot of school spirit, but I was still surprised to see that every student in every row of the stadium was on their feet chanting the whole time. I love that there is so much school spirit and pride.
