DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 10 Duke women's lacrosse team is back in action for a weekend doubleheader against No. 9 Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. Friday's opening draw is set for 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra before a noon start on Sunday with Jay Atler and Sheehan Stanwick Burch on the ACC Network call.
OPENING DRAW
This weekend marks the 41st and 42nd meeting between the two squads as the Cavaliers hold the series record at 25-15. In their last meeting on March 7, 2020, the No. 23 Blue Devils defeated the No. 12 Cavaliers, 16-10, in Durham as
Katie Cronin propelled Duke with a career-high five goals.
One week ago, No. 11 Duke defeated High Point, 19-9, in Koskinen Stadium as nine Blue Devils registered goals.

Maddie Jenner was solid at the draw as she picked up 15 draw controls, just one off her career high. Duke won the battle at the draw, 21-7.

Virginia is ranked No. 9 in the nation by both the IWLCA and
Inside Lacrosse and is coming off a 15-5 victory over VCU on Wednesday. The Cavaliers have a quick turnaround and will play three games in five days.
Virginia is led by Taylor Regan (22 pts.), Lillie Kloak (19 pts.) and Ashlyn McGovern (17 pts.). They are averaging 15.00 goals/game and a 9.87 GAA.
The squad suffered its first loss of the season in a 20-11 setback to No. 10 Boston College on March 13.

The Blue Devils are ranked No. 10 in the latest IWLCA poll and No. 8 by
Inside Lacrosse this week.
All ACC women's lacrosse teams are featured in the IWLCA poll with three in the top 5.
CRONIN CONTINUES HOT STREAK
Senior
Katie Cronin has been on an absolute tear this season with a team-leading 15 goals and four assists for 19 points.
Cronin has scored at least one goal in each of Duke's seven contests and registered a season-high four against William & Mary.
She has connected on 15-of-20 shots for a .750 shooting percentage.
DRAW CONTROL QUEEN
Junior
Maddie Jenner continues her dominance at the draw in 2021 and has 63 draw controls through seven games.
Jenner had 15 draw controls in Duke's commanding wins over William & Mary and High Point, just one off her career high.
To date, Jenner owns 247 career draw controls.
She leads the ACC with 9.00/game and is fifth in the country.
ROSENZWEIG MAKES IMMEDIATE IMPACT
Graduate student
Gabby Rosenzweig has proved to be one of the best and most versatile players in the ACC in her time as a Blue Devil.
She owns 11 goals and 11 assists for a team-leading 22 points and has picked up five ground balls and caused four turnovers on the defensive end.
The Somers, N.Y., native has registered two goals in five of Duke's seven games this season.
TWO SELECTED TO TEWAARATON WATCH LIST

Maddie Jenner were among the 50 players named to the initial Tewaaraton Award Watch List, as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
Duke has featured at least two players on the Tewaaraton Award watch list in 19 of the last 20 years since its inception in 2001. Former Blue Devil Katie Chrest received the prestigious honor following the 2005 season.
LOOKING AHEAD
Looking ahead, Duke will welcome No. 4 Notre Dame to Durham for a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday, March 28.
