A 2020 All-ACC first team selection, Nunnink is in her second year as a Blue Devil after arriving in Durham as a graduate student for the 2020-21 season. Β The Eindhoven, Netherlands native used her extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic to return for the 2021 campaign and has been a leader for the Blue Devils on both ends of the field.
Nunnink, an anchor in the center back position, is a steadying force for the Blue Devils on defense and is a playmaker for the offense out of the back. Offensively, she is the primary hitter on Duke's penalty corner team and has two goals and four assists.
After missing the first four games of the season, Nunnink returned to make an immediate impact as she scored a goal in Duke's road victory at No. 13 Princeton. Two games later, she provided the assist on the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory over James Madison.
Nunnink has hit her stride of late, registering at least one point in four of the past five games. In her two seasons as a Blue Devil, she has started all 28 games she has played and has five goals and six assists for 16 points. Β
