DURHAM – The second-ranked Duke women's golf team will return to action this week as the Blue Devils travel to Wilmette, Ill., to compete in the Windy City Classic, which takes place Oct. 4-5 at Westmoreland Country Club. Â
Competing this week will be Augusta State, Duke, Florida, Iowa State, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Oregon, Purdue, Southern California, South Carolina, Stanford, Texas and Virginia. Â
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 4 followed by 18 holes on Tuesday, Oct. 5.
Duke will field a lineup of junior

Gina Kim, junior
Megan Furtney, sophomore
Anne Chen and sophomore
Phoebe Brinker. Freshman
Rylie Heflin will compete as an individual this week. Â
Furtney, a product of St. Charles, Ill., travels to her home state of Illinois to make her 2021-22 debut with the Blue Devils. Â
Duke opened the season with an impressive second place ledger at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, which featured one of the strongest field the Blue Devils will face this season. The Blue Devils were the only school to register three golfers in the top-10 with Shepherd (4), Kim (T5) and Chen (T10). Â
Tee times start Monday, Oct. 4 at 8:30 a.m. (ET) with Duke playing with South Carolina and Oregon. Heflin tees off at 9:15 a.m., along with individuals from South Carolina and Northwestern.
