DURHAM – The Duke volleyball team returns home for a four-game homestand beginning this weekend with Notre Dame and No. 2 Louisville.
The Blue Devils take on the Fighting Irish Friday at 5 p.m., before a 1 p.m., contest against the Cardinals Sunday. Paul Sunderland and Missy Whittemore will be on the call Friday on ACC Network while
Ryan Craig and Christina Lingley will be live from Cameron Indoor Stadium Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
Duke dropped both matches over the weekend to North Carolina (3-0) and NC State (3-0). Senior

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE SERIES
NOTRE DAME: Duke and Notre Dame meet for the 20th time in program history as the FIghting Irish hold an 11-8 lead in the all-time series. Notre Dame has won the past three outings and most recently defeated Duke, 3-1, on April 2, 2021. Duke is 5-4 against Notre Dame in Durham.
LOUISVILLE: The Cardinals own an 8-6 lead in the all-time series and have won five straight. The two squads last met in the spring of 2021 when Louisville was ranked No. 13 in the nation. Duke is 3-4 against Louisville in Durham.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
NOTRE DAME: Notre Dame (9-11, 6-4 ACC) enters the weekend having won six of its past eight matches and recently took No. 4 Pitt to five sets. Offensively, the Fighting Irish are led by Charley Niego (228 kills) and Aubrey Hamilton (227 kills) as Notre Dame is hitting .215 percent. Notre Dame is ranked fifth in the ACC in blocks with 185.5 with Lauren Tarnoff leading the way with 75 this season. Hattie Monson paces the defense with 283 digs to help the Fighting Irish rank fifth as a team. This year, Notre Dame is 3-3 on the road.
LOUISVILLE: The Cardinals enter the weekend as the No. 2 team in the nation with a flawless 20-0 (10-0 ACC) record. Louisville ranks in the top five of 10 different ACC statistical categories and leads the conference in hitt ing percentage (.311) and blocks (196.0). Five different athletes own 100+ kills this season, led by Anna Stevenson (180). She she leads the ACC and ranks sixth nationally with a .450 hitting percentage. Setter Tori Dilfer owns 722 assists this year and four Cardinals are in the top 10 in the ACC in blocks (Amaya Tillman - 93, Anna Stevenson - 82, Aiko Jones - 80 and Khori Louis - 73). Louisville's .311 team hitting percentage is the fourth best in the nation.
COLE RANKS AMONG THE BEST

Mackenzie Cole is ranked 31st on the NCAA active career leaders list with 1,532 career digs to date. She needs 191 to move into the top 20. She is also currently tabbed eighth on the Duke all-time charts and needs 25 to move to seventh.
Cole has been one of Duke's top defensive specialists during her time in Durham and has 19 games with 20-plus digs. Her career-high of 29 came against North Carolina on November 17, 2018. She also owns 115 service aces, becoming the 18th player in Duke history to reach the milestone. Cole became the 12th person in Duke history with 1,000 digs and 100 aces. This season, she owns 295 digs for a 4.2 digs/set average to rank fourth in the ACC and helps the team to rank sixth.
SPIKE OUT CANCER
The Duke volleyball team is excited to continue its partnership with the Duke Cancer Institute's Teen and Young Adult Oncology Program this season with the Spike Out Cancer initiative. The Blue Devils will dedicate their games against North Carolina (Oct. 22 and Nov. 26) to help raise awareness about and support for teen and young adult cancer. With your support, every spike made by the Blue Devils during these two matches will raise funds for the Duke Cancer Institute's TYAO Program.

Duke leads the ACC in service aces with 123 (1.7 aces/set) as 12 different Blue Devils have at least one.

Mackenzie Cole and Johnson rank second in the ACC. In 2020, the Blue Devils finished the season with 102 aces and 111 in 2019. Sunday's match against Louisville will be battle of the two best serving teams in the conference with Duke in first and Louisville second.
GEORGIA'S BLOCK PARTY
Sophomore middle blocker
Georgia Stavrinides is second on the team in blocks with 53.0 (11 solo, 43 assisted) and has been a force at the net. This season, Stavrinides tallied 5+ blocks in five different games, led by a career-high seven in Duke's 3-0 victory over Boston College. She is following up a rookie campaign that saw her bring in 58.0 total blocks. She owns 111 total in her career.

Grounds Lot starting at 3:00 PM. Science Drive Garage entry is located at the permit entrance off of NC 751/Cameron Blvd. – no game day parking available at the JB Duke Hotel. All parking is free of charge.
Accessible Parking for Volleyball – Parking for guests with disabilities attending the Duke Volleyball match will be available in the
Whitford Lot beginning at 3:00 PM. There is no charge to park. To access the parking area, guests should speak with the lot attendant at the Whitford Lot entrance and request accessible parking. An accessible drop-off and pick-up point for persons with disabilities is located at the circle at the end of Whitford Drive outside the Rubenstein Pavilion entrance to Cameron Indoor Stadium.
