Women's Soccer Recruit Spotlight: Dieynaba Ndaw

DURHAM, N.C.— Head coach Robbie Church and the Duke women's soccer staff signed four student-athletes in November in the early signing period that will don the Blue Devil uniform starting in August of 2021.
GoDuke.com will get to know the future Blue Devils over the next couple of months.
The second spotlight is Dieynaba Ndaw, who is a 5-6 defender from Dakar, Senegal by way of IMG Academy. She competed with the 2020-21 IMG U-19 Girls Academy Team, while starting all eight matches and notched 11 goals and five assists. Ndaw was awarded the Girls Program Core Value Award and Open Mind Award for her IMG team. She was a 2019 U-17 National Elite Team MVP.

GD: Tell us a about your soccer game and what you hope to bring to Duke?
DN: Team spirit, creativity and hard-working
GD: Favorite NWSL Player?
DN: Crystal Dunn
GD: Most excited for at Duke (soccer and not soccer)?
DN: Meeting my teammates and exploring my interests
GD: What is a fun fact/skill/talent people may not know about you?
DN: I speak three languages
GD: Who are your biggest inspirations on and off the pitch?
DN: My mother
GD: What is your proudest moment on the soccer field so far?
DN: Making it to the semifinals of nationals
GD: What age did you start playing soccer?
DN: Age 13 for club
GD: Did you play other sports growing up?
DN: Tennis, basketball, Track & Field, Surfing, Volleyball
