DURHAM, N.C. – Duke men's tennis is set to open its home slate with a pair of weekend matches against Campbell on Friday and UNC Wilmington on Sunday at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.
Â
Â
Since head coach
Ramsey Smith took over the program, Duke holds a 10-2 record in its home-opening matches. The Blue Devils' two losses were to Elon in 2014 and No. 12 Illinois in 2018.

HISTORY WITH CAMPBELL
Friday's contest is the seventh meeting between the two programs as Duke has won all six matches. All six previous contests have been played inside the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center with the last meeting coming on Jan. 24, 2020, where the Blue Devils picked up a 7-0 victory.

SCOUTING THE CAMELS
Campbell opens its 2021 season with Duke on Friday. The Camels were off to a 5-3 start last season before COVID-19 ended their spring campaign early. The Camels return five players from their 2020 roster, while adding six newcomers.

HISTORY WITH UNC WILMINGTON
Duke and UNCW have only met on two occasions prior to Sunday with the Blue Devils winning both matches. The two programs last squared off Jan. 18, 2020, when Duke came away with a 6-1 victory. The Seahawks' lone point came from a super-tiebreaker win on court five (4-6, 6-3, 13-11). The first meeting between the two teams was on May 11, 2013, resulting in a 4-0 Duke victory to advance the Blue Devils to the 2013 NCAA Team Championships.

Â
SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
Sunday's match will also open the Seahawks' 2021 campaign. UNCW returns six players from last year's roster to go along with their three newcomers. Duke will see UNCW's ranked doubles duo in No. 27 Bruno Caula and Daniel Groom. The Blue Devils faced the tandem last year when
Spencer Furman and
Luca Keist defeated the 36th-ranked pair, 6-3. Before the 2020 season was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UNCW put together a 4-7 record with one conference win over the College of Charleston (4-3).
