DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's lacrosse team begins the year tabbed the No. 15 squad in the country, as announced by Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women's Preseason Top 20.
Head coach
Kerstin Kimel returns all 12 starters from the 2020 season that includes 96 percent of their points production.
The team's top three leading goal scorers all return in seniors
Katie Cronin and
Catriona Barry and fifth-year
Catherine Cordrey combined for 60 of the Blue Devils' 159 goals during the abbreviated 2020 slate.
Attacker
Maddie Jenner also returns in 2021 in the draw circle as she tallied 96 draw controls and averaged 10.67 per game, the second-most in the country.
The ACC placed seven teams in the top-20 rankings: No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 4 Syracuse, No. 17 Boston College, No. 18 Virginia and No. 20 Virginia Tech.
