DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke track & field program is excited to announce the addition of three women's sprinters who will compete for the Blue Devils in the 2021-22 season.
Madison Dietz
The trio of signees is led off by Madison Dietz, who currently attends Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif. She holds a 200m high school personal record of 24.98 seconds, which she set in 2018, while her unattached PR was clocked in July of 2020, when she posted a time of 24.64 at the USATF Youth Virtual Summer Challenge.
She also competed in the under-20 division at the 2020 Athletics Canada Virtual Track & Field Challenge, recording a 100m PR time of 12.24 seconds.
Amarachi Onuoha
Amarachi Onuoha will come to Durham from Far Northeast High School in Denver, Colo. She has set impressive marks while competing for DOPE (Defying Other People's Expectations) Athletics Club, including a top 60m time of 7.73 seconds during the 2020 indoor season. Her 200m PR came at the Air Force High School Indoor Open in February of 2020, when she clocked a time of 24.80 seconds to win the event.
Meredith Sims
The Blue Devils will welcome Meredith Sims from Dallas Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas. Sims took first place in the 60m dash at the 2020 Texas vs. The World meet in October of 2020 by clocking a PR time of 7.78 seconds. Her 200m PR of 25.01 seconds came at the USATF Southwestern Region Open and Masters Championship during the 2019 outdoor season. She has also competed for the Major Impact Track Club in Texas.
