2004 – Women's Basketball
Alana Beard scored 22 points and the top-ranked Blue Devils used a late run to defeat No. 13 North Carolina, 79-57. Mistie Bass added 18 points, while Monique Currie added 14 points and 15 rebounds for Duke, which won its 47th straight ACC contest.
January 12
2017 - Women's Soccer
In the 2017 NWSL College Draft, Duke two-time All-American Christina Gibbons was selected with the No. 5 selection in the first round, while senior Toni Payne was taken with the No. 13 overall pick in the second round by FC Kansas City at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles, Calif.
"We're so excited to have Christina and Toni be drafted so high," said Duke head coach
Robbie Church. "They've worked extremely hard all their lives and have been dreaming of this their whole lives. Kansas City really wanted them. We were speaking with them the other day, and they were talking, if they had their choice they wanted the two Duke players. Everything worked out and it fell where they could take Christina and then take Toni right behind her. It's a great honor for them to be able to play in this league and just great for our program, to have two players drafted in the top 15. We're just so very proud of them."
Gibbons earning the No. 5 selection marked the highest NWSL pick for a Duke alumna in school history. The previous high was Natasha Anasi at No. 13 overall in 2014.
2012 – Men's Soccer
Duke University's Andrew Wenger was selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the Montreal Impact in the 2012 Major League Soccer SuperDraft in Kansas City, Mo. Wenger is the lone Blue Devil to be taken with the first pick in program history.
The 2012 Hermann Trophy winner as the nation's top collegiate player, Wenger was the 18th Blue Devil to be drafted out of college since MLS held its first collegiate draft in 1997. At the time, he was the fourth Duke player to be a top five pick, joining Brian Kelly (5 -1997), Jay Heaps (2 -1999) and Ali Curtis (2 -2001).
After two years of anchoring Duke's defense at center back, Wenger moved forward to headline Duke's offense in 2011. He led the ACC with 17 goals and 42 points overall and ranked fourth nationally in total points and sixth in total goals. A starter in every game for Duke over the past three years, Wenger has reaped nearly every ACC award possible. He was selected as the 2011 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, completing the trifecta of ACC major awards after being named the ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 and 2010, respectively.

2017 – Men's Soccer
Former Duke University men's soccer player Jeremy Ebobisse had his dream come true in Los Angeles as he was selected by Major League Soccer's Portland Timbers with the No. 4 overall pick. Ebobisse, a Generation Adidas signee, played for the Blue Devils in 2014 and 2015.
The Portland Timbers traded up with the Houston Dynamo to draft the Bethesda, Md., product. In exchange for the No. 4 pick the club used on Ebobisse, the Houston Dynamo acquired $100K of GAM, 2017 int'l roster spot & No. 10 pick.
He was the fifth Blue Devil to be a top five pick in the SuperDraft, joining Brian Kelly (5 -1997), Jay Heaps (2 -1999), Ali Curtis (2 -2001) and Andrew Wenger (1 -2012).
"I remember being a young kid and going to MLS games and celebrating our birthdays there," said Ebobisse. "We had our opportunity to play on the field at halftime, our 15 minutes of fame and now to get to this point where I'm going to be the one ushered off the field for the next generation it's really incredible. It's a testament to the fact that dreams can come true."
2007 – Women's Basketball
Lindsey Harding scored a career-high 28 points and Alison Bales flirted with a triple-double and No. 3 Duke defeated top-ranked Maryland 81-62 in Cameron Indoor Stadium in a rematch of the 2006 national championship game. Bales finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots for the Blue Devils.

1999 – Women's Basketball
Led by Nicole Erickson's 28 points, including seven three-pointers made, Duke downed 12th-ranked Clemson, 86-77, in Cameron Indoor Stadium to win its ninth straight contest.
Georgia Schweitzer (16), Peppi Browne (14) and Michele VanGorp (12) added double-digit scoring, while Hilary Howard dished 11 assists and had nine points for the Blue Devils.
2011 – Women's Basketball
Jasmine Thomas scored 22 points to lead the third-ranked Blue Devils to an 87-70 road victory, delivering not only several clutch shots but finishing off the No. 15 Florida State Seminoles with game highs in rebounds, assists and steals. Haley Peters scored 15 points, while Tricia Liston and Chelsea Gray added 13 points each.

2016 - Women's Soccer
Duke senior Kara Wilson was selected by the Washington Spirit as the No. 37 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2016 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Draft, which took place at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md. Wilson, who competed in 68 career matches for the Blue Devils over the last four years, became the fourth Blue Devil drafted over the last three years in the NWSL.
"I am definitely excited about getting drafted in the NWSL and the Washington Spirit," said Wilson. "It is especially exciting since I know the organization and the coaches. I have been playing with the Spirit Reserves for several years and I have an understanding of what the organization is like. I couldn't be more excited about joining the Spirit."

2020 - Women's Soccer
After enjoying one of the best careers in Duke women's soccer history,
Ella Stevens was selected by the Chicago Red Stars in the third round of the 2020 National Women's Soccer League College Draft at the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Baltimore. Chicago selected Stevens with the 24th overall pick in the draft, giving Duke 14 all-time selections and at least one pick in the last five NWSL drafts. Stevens became the first Blue Devil to be drafted by the Red Stars in program history.
"Thank you to Chicago first of all for drafting me and giving me the opportunity to play at the next level," said Stevens. "I want to thank my parents for being behind me through everything. Thank you to the coaches from Duke, club and high school. Thank you Robbie (Church) for allowing me to go to Duke. I've been surrounded by amazing people over these last three and a half years. I've had teammates who I consider to be more like family, and I love you guys so much. You made me a better person, player and student. Thank you and I'm ready to get to work."
2009 - Women's Soccer
Former Duke women's soccer All-America Rebecca Moros had a dream come true on in 2009 as she was selected with the 36th overall pick in the sixth round by the Washington Freedom in the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) League draft, which was held in St. Louis, Mo.
"I was watching, and kept feverishly pressing the refresh button on the computer," Moros commented about being drafted. "I must have looked own for a minute and my dad tapped me on the back, so I looked up and there was my name. I was very excited, almost to tears and shaking a little bit. It's really everything I wanted, and exactly where I wanted to be, and I'm thrilled that it worked out that way."

2014 - Women's Soccer
In the 2014 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) draft in Philadelphia, Pa., the Boston Breakers selected a trio of Blue Devils – Natasha Anasi, Mollie Pathman and Kim DeCesare – in the first 34 picks. Anasi was selected with the 13th overall pick in the second round, Pathman was taken with the 23rd pick in the third round and DeCesare was the 34th selection in the fourth round. Duke was one of only three schools that featured three selections.
"It is so exciting to see those young ladies get drafted," commented head coach
Robbie Church. "They have worked so hard and had such great careers at Duke. All three have been major players in really taking our program to another level over the last four years at Duke. They have been wonderful ambassadors for the university as well."
