Breaking Down the Blue Devils
- The Blue Devils make their home debut Saturday night against ACC foe NC State. It is the first of six ACC contests Duke will play this fall.
- Duke looks to rebound after a 4-2 setback at Kentucky this past Monday. The Blue Devils got goals from Jack Doran and Daniel Wright as five rookies earned their first collegiate starts. Overall, eight Blue Devils saw their first career minutes.
- Pulisic, Frick and Murphy are the veterans anchoring the defense. They have a combined 139 starts and will be crucial in Duke's success this season. Rookies Antino Lopez and Lewis McGarvey joined the veteran crew in the back at Kentucky.
- Doran, playing his first game since 2018, scored a penalty kick and Wright added a strike for Duke's second goal. Peter Stroud and Nick Pariano patrolled the middle of the field, while Daley ran on the left flank. Santa Ihara, Conor Kelly and Stephen O'Connell all provide quality depth to Duke's lineup – a vast improvement from a year ago.

Series History
- The Blue Devils and Wolfpack meet for the 82nd time Saturday night. Duke holds a commanding 52-21-8 lead in the series and is 5-2-3 in the past 10 outings.
- NC State owns the most recent victory, a 2-1 victory in the 2019 ACC Tournament. Under current head coach George Kiefer, the Wolfpack is 1-0-1. NC State has not won in Durham since 2009.

Last Time Out
- Duke opened its fall schedule Monday with a 4-2 setback at Kentucky. The Blue Devils were the first to score with a penalty kick from Jack Doran. After Kentucky equalized, Duke regained the lead on a goal from Daniel Wright, but the Wildcats responded before the half to tie it.
- The Blue Devils struggled offensively in the second half, being held without a shot, while he Wildcats scored twice for the victory.

Kerr One Away from 200 Wins
- Head coach John Kerr is one win shy of earning his 200th career victory. A win Monday would make him the 51st active coach to reach the benchmark.
- Kerr captured his 100th win as the Blue Devil leader in 2017 with a 2-1 victory over FIU. Now in his 13th season, Kerr is one of two Duke coaches in program history to win 100 career games from the Duke sideline.Â

ACC Tournament Schedule
- The top eight teams will advance to the ACC Championship with the quarterfinals taking place November 15 across the four North Carolina schools. The semifinals are November 18 at campus sites and the championship will be Nov. 22 in Cary, N.C.
