BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – Boosted by a bogey-free five-under-par final round, Duke University women's golf junior
Gina Kim turned in a third place finish and was the top amateur at the South Carolina Women's Open, which took place at the Cobblestone Park Golf Club in Blythewood, S.C.
A native of Chapel Hill, N.C., Kim turned in rounds of 71, 69 and 66 over 54 holes to finish at seven-under-par, 206. She was the top amateur by five strokes ahead of Alyssa Montgomery (211).
Katelyn Dambaugh brought home the title with a 13-under-par, 200.
In the final round, Kim carded one birdie on the front nine on No. 4, but closed the back nine with birdies on No. 10, No. 11, No. 13 and No. 17. She finished the weekend with 13 birdies over the three days.
