DURHAM, N.C. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected Duke University men's and women's swimming and diving teams as a Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2020 semester, the organization announced Tuesday.
Duke was one of 461 schools to receive the award for the spring semester. Because the 2020 season was cut short and students were unable to finish the spring semester on campus, the CSCAA elected to not release team grade point averages this season.
To be eligible for Scholar All-America recognition, teams had to finish with a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher.
"No team was unaffected by this Spring's pandemic, but Athletic Director
Kevin White and President Vincent Price can and should be proud of their team and the work of Dan [Colella]," CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart said.
The CSCAA will announce its individual Scholar All-Americans next week.
