2005 – Men's Golf – Former men's golf coach, the late Rod Myers, was named the National Coach of the Year by Golfweek. Myers led the Blue Devils to the 2005 ACC title -- the program's first since 1966 – and to an eighth place finish at the NCAA Championship -- the program's best since finishing third in 1962.
2014 – Men's Golf – Former Duke men's golfer Kevin Streelman birdied his final seven holes to win the Travelers Championship with a 15-under score of 265. His seven consecutive birdies broke the PGA Tour record for consecutive birdies by a winner, ironically held by another Duke golfer – Mike Souchak – when he birdied the final six holes at the St. Paul Open in 1956.
2017 – Men's Basketball – Duke matched a program record with four selections in the 2017 NBA Draft. Freshman Jayson Tatum (third overall), sophomore Luke Kennard (12th) and freshman Harry Giles (20th) were each first-round picks, while freshman Frank Jackson (31) was the first pick in the second round.
2019 – Men's Golf –Alex Smalley and Chandler Eaton earned All-America honors for the 2018-19 season, each selected to the PING and Golfweek All-America teams. It marked the second straight season each earned All-American recognition.
June 23
1962 – Men's Golf – Duke hosted the NCAA Championship on its home course, Duke Golf Club, and wrapped up the event with then the program's best finish of third place. Led by Dick Dion's one-over par 143, which was good for a tie for second place, the Blue Devils finished 15 shots back of Houston and five behind Oklahoma State.
2013 – Men's Basketball – Kyrie Irving was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the first round by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2013 NBA Draft, while Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler were taken 21st and 33rd, respectively by the Portland Trail Blazers and Detroit Pistons. Irving, who entered the draft following his freshman season at Duke, became the third Blue Devil tabbed with the No. 1 overall selection.
2016 – Men's Basketball – Brandon Ingram became the 21st lottery pick in the history of the Duke men's basketball program when he was selected No. 2 overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2016 NBA Draft at Barclays Center.
June 24
2004 – Men's Basketball – Luol Deng was selected No. 7 overall by the Phoenix Suns, while Chris Duhon was the 38th overall pick by the Chicago Bulls at the 2004 NBA Draft at Madison Square Garden. Deng was then traded that night to the Bulls, becoming Duhon's teammate again.
2014 – Men's Basketball – Justise Winslow scored a team-high 20 points and added 10 rebounds to lead Team USA to a 113-79 win over Canada in the gold medal game of the 2014 FIBA Americas Championship at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Winslow, along with teammate, Tyus Jones claimed their third gold medals with USA Basketball.
June 25
2008 – Men's Tennis – Duke announced changes to the men's tennis staff as Jay Lapidus moved into the role of Director of Tennis following 18 seasons at the helm of the program with a 372-126 all-time record. Following his playing career (1998-'01) and three years as an assistant and associate head coach, Ramsey Smith was elevated to head coach.
2009 – Men's Basketball – Gerald Henderson was selected with the 12th overall pick in the first round by the Charlotte Bobcats in the 2009 NBA Draft. Henderson, who entered the draft following his junior season at Duke, became the 40th player selected in the NBA Draft under Coach K.
June 26
2014 – Men's Basketball – Jabari Parker was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the first round by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2014 NBA Draft, while Rodney Hood was taken No. 23 by the Utah Jazz.
June 27
2001 – Men's Basketball – Shane Battier, the forward who led Duke to the 2001 NCAA Championship and the consensus National Player of the Year, was taken with the sixth pick overall by the Vancouver Grizzlies in the 2001 NBA Draft. Battier then was Duke's 21st first-round selection.
2006 – Men's Basketball – Shelden Williams and J.J. Redick were each selected in the first round of the 2006 NBA Draft, becoming then the 37th and 38th players selected in the draft under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Williams was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks with the fifth pick, while Redick was taken 11th overall by the Orlando Magic.
2013 – Men's Basketball – Mason Plumlee was selected with the No. 22 overall pick in the first round by the Brooklyn Nets, while Ryan Kelly was taken in the second round (No. 48) by the Los Angeles Lakers at the 2013 NBA Draft in Brooklyn.
June 28
2013 – Men's Golf – Former golfer Brinson Paolini was named the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's golf. The award, which is named for the late Duke golf coach Rod Myers, was also won by Alex Smalley in 2019.
