DURHAM, N.C. – After checking in with its incoming freshmen the last few weeks, Duke softball connects with its sixth and final recruit.
The last recruit check-in is with
Claire Davidson – a pitcher from Lakewood Ranch, Fla. Â
How has it been adjusting to school online?
Claire: "Adjusting to high school online hasn't been too bad, because my teachers have made a lot of resources accessible to us. They're always there to help and we have the whole week to do our assignments, so it actually hasn't been too bad. We only have a couple weeks left though and I'm ready to finish!"
What have you been doing to prepare for Duke both athletically and academically?
Claire: "I've been hitting, pitching, fielding and doing all of that in my backyard or at the field. I've been working out and going on runs. Academically, I'm just trying to finish my senior year out strong."
As a recruit, what was it like for you to see Duke's success this season?
Claire: "Seeing Duke success this season really made me excited for my next four years, because I'm going to be able to join something special and it's on the rise so I'm going to continue to be challenge both on the team and with other competition. I'm really looking forward to being a part of something special."Â
