The Blue Devil men's soccer family is eagerly waiting to see what the talented group of 2020 freshmen bring to the program on and off the field. Head coach
John Kerr and staff worked tirelessly in building one of the top incoming classes in the nation and
Krew Verratti is the latest player we'd like to introduce and welcome to Duke.
Verratti hails from Cincinnati, Ohio where he played his club soccer for Cincinnati United Premier and also was a standout for Indian Hill High School. Joining Cincinnati United Premier in the 2016-17 season, he helped the club to a top three finish in the State Cup every season. He was a member of the second team his first two years, helping the U17 squad to a runner-
up finish in the State Cup in 2018, and earned a spot on the first team for the next two seasons.
He started nearly every game for the U18 team and was instrumental in the club taking second in the Great Lakes Conference and capturing the State Cup  title to qualify for the USYSA Midwest Regional Championship. Verratti scored twice in the Ohio South State Cup final.
In the shortened 2019-20 campaign, Verratti started every game for the U19s and registered a hat trick in the first and only league game before the season was suspended.
A four-year member of the varsity boys' soccer team at Indian Hill, Verratti garnered first-team all-league honors in three of the four years and was a second-team all-state selection. He led the team in scoring as a freshman and is tied for the most goals in one season in school history.
A two-year captain at Indian Hill he earned the William Roessler Minturn Award, which is given to a lone junior male athlete at the school. An exceptional student, Verratti was a member of the National Honor Society and very active in the school community, including being elected class president as a sophomore.
