- Duke moved to 4-2 overall on the year with a pair of wins from opposite ends of the spectrum. The No. 13 Blue Devils outlasted 20th-ranked Richmond 16-15 in overtime Friday night and then returned Sunday to roll past Furman 19-6.
- Sean Lowrie scored 1:12 into overtime to lift Duke to the win over the Spiders. It was a game of runs as Duke trailed 8-4 before taking a 14-10 lead after three periods. Richmond rallied to tie it at 14 and 15, but the Blue Devils had the final say. Duke is now 24-21-1 all-time in overtime games and 11-5 under head coach John Danowski.
- Sunday was less stressful as Duke jumped out to a 7-0 lead on goals from seven different players and cruised to the 13-goal victory. Four Blue Devils scored their first career goals in the victory.
- Rookie Dyson Williams had a memorable weekend at Koskinen Stadium, scoring 11 goals in two games to help Duke improve to 4-2 on the year. The 11 goals are two more than he had in the previous four games combined and push his season total to 20.
- Williams scored a career-high seven goals to help lift the Blue Devils to a 16-15 overtime win over No. 20 Richmond Friday night. With Duke trailing 8-4 in the second quarter, the Canadian lefty took over and scored five straight to put the Blue Devils in front for the first time of the night.
- His seven goals are the most since Zack Greer had seven versus St. John's in 2008. Greer also netted seven twice in 2007. Greer and Williams hail from the same hometown and the former Blue Devil star suited up with Dyson's father Shawn for Team Canada and in the NLL. Williams is the first Canadian attackman to play at Duke since Greer.
- The 11 goals pushed his goals per game average to 3.33, ranking second in the ACC and first among all Division I freshmen. He is averaging 3.83 points per game, second overall in the ACC and third among freshmen nationally.

- Led by the .541 shooting percentage of Dyson Williams, Duke ranks second in the ACC and ninth among Division I programs in shot percentage at .365.
- After shooting only 28 percent in the season opener against Air Force, Duke has improved and jumped to its current .365. The Blue Devils have shot .350 or better in every game since and twice over .400.
- Duke is one of four teams to have four players ranked in the top 75 in shooting percentage. Cornell, Drexel and Hobart are the other three.

MORE BLUE DEVIL FIRSTS
- This weekend's games featured even more firsts for a host of Blue Devils. There were first goals, first starts and first faceoff wins.
- Junior JP Basile came off the bench Friday night to shine at attack. Seeing his first quality minutes in his career, the Garden City, N.Y., native recorded his first career points in dishing out four assists and scoring his first goal.
- Sunday, four Blue Devils tallied their first goals. Seniors JT Giles-Harris and Blake Leischow found their way into the goals column with transition goals – classic defense to offense. Rookies Jake Caputo and Connor Drake also threw in their first scores. Eleven Blue Devils have scored their first career goals this season with five of them being freshmen.
- Sophomore Braden Burke handed out his first assist and Junior Trey Bender came in to win his first career faceoff and pick up a ground ball. He finished 4-of-4 at the X. Senior John Bowler also scooped his first GB, totaling two.
- Duke's March is a busy one as the Blue Devils play six games in 25 days with three being in the top 15 matchups. The Blue Devils opened the month with a convincing victory over Furman, but will see their next top 20 test at No. 11 Loyola Saturday. Then it's right on to the next one three days later when an improved Jacksonville program comes to Durham. A trip back to the Charm City March 14 at Towson is the final tune-up for the gauntlet that is ACC play.
- The Blue Devils welcome No. 1 Syracuse March 22 and four days later have to host No. 3 North Carolina.
- Danowski has fared well in March at Duke, going 69-19 for a .784 win percentage. It's his highest win percentage by month, barely edging April and May.
