DURHAM, N.C. – Duke wrestling redshirt freshman Mason Eaglin is heading to the 2020 NCAA Wrestling Championships after earning one of five at-large bids for 174 pounds.
Eaglin finished ranked in both the final NCAA Coaches' Poll and RPI ratings, coming in at 26th and 30th, respectively. This year, in his first full campaign as a Blue Devil, he garnered 32 of Duke's 79 dual points during the regular season and held a 3-2 record against ranked opponents.
Eaglin heads to nationals with a 26-16 career record. He earned an at-large bid on the strength of a 21-12 regular season record that included a first-place finish at the Battle at the Citadel and Keystone Classic, as well as victories over fellow NCAA qualifiers Neal Richards of VMI and Dean Sherry of Rider.
The NCAA Championships will be held March 19-21 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn. Every session will be televised on the ESPN family of networks.
The NCAA will release the seeds and official brackets Wednesday at 6 p.m., on NCAA.com.
