DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 22/17 Duke women's lacrosse team (4-2) opens conference play at No. 2/2 Notre Dame on Sunday in South Bend, Ind. Opening draw is slated for 1 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
 
The Blue Devils are back on the road after topping William & Mary, 20-8, on Wednesday in Williamsburg, Va. 
Anna Callahan recorded a career-high five points on three goals and two assists, her second career hat trick, to lead the Blue Devils. 
Callie Humphrey led the Duke defense with five ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Duke travels to Notre Dame to kick off the 2020 ACC season. The meeting will be the 20th between the two programs, with Duke leading the series 12-7. Notre Dame had won four straight since 2016 before the Blue Devils topped the Fighting Irish in the 2019 ACC Championships.
 
Notre Dame enters the contest tabbed the No. 2 team in the nation. The Fighting Irish have enjoyed a strong start to the 2020 season, winning their first four games, including a win over third-ranked Northwestern. Most recently, Notre Dame topped Ohio State 18-7. Two freshmen have led the Fighting Irish so far this season. Madison Ahern leads the team with 17 points on 10 goals and seven assists while Kasey Choma's 13 goals tops the team.
 
Duke is 56-54 (.509) all-time in Atlantic Coast Conference play since 1997. The Blue Devils finished sixth in the ACC last season after amassing an ACC record of 2-5. Duke's two wins came over Virginia Tech and Louisville.

Jenner Establishes Herself in the Circle
Sophomore attacker 
Maddie Jenner took over the primary draw control duties after assisting her sister last season. Maddie and Olivia combined to make Duke one of the most potent teams in the country inside the circle, leading the country in draw controls per game and second in draw control percentage.
 
This season, 
Maddie Jenner has taken the brunt of the draw controls and leads Duke in the category with 57 through the opening six games of the season. Her 11.67 draw controls per game leads the nation. As a team, Duke is first in the ACC and second nationally in draw controls per game, averaging 20.33 per contest.
 
Hats Off for Callahan
Sophomore attacker 
Anna Callahan recorded her second career hat trick just four days after recording her first. The Glenwood, Md., native matched her career high in both goals (three) and assists (two) at William & Mary on Feb. 26 to set a new career high in total points scored with five. Both of her previous career highs that were matched were also set this season.
 
Callahan got her first hat trick on Feb. 22 versus George Washington. Her three goals and an assist also set a career-high in total points at the time with four. Callahan also netted the first free position goal of her young career, going 2-for-2 from eight meters against the Colonials. In Duke's third game of the season, Feb. 13 vs. Wofford, Callahan set a career-high in assists with two.
 
How May I Assist You?
Freshman attacker 
Caroline DeBellis currently leads Duke in points and assists with 28 and 16, respectively, and sits among national leaders in both categories. She has tallied multiple assists in all but two games this season. Her 16 assists have her third in the nation while her 28 points makes her sixth.
 
With 16 assists, she already sits tied for sixth in assists among Duke freshmen in Blue Devil history. Her 28 points are 18th in the freshman list. In addition, DeBellis is putting 75 percent of her shots in the net while putting 87.5 percent of them on goal.
 
I'll Take That
Through its first six games of the 2020 campaign, Duke has created 83 turnovers. Its 13.67 caused turnovers per game rank fourth nationally and second in the ACC. 
Callie Humphrey leads the Duke squad with 11 caused turnovers while 
Katie Cosgrove's eight ranks second.
 
Humphrey ties with Mary Clare McCarthy of Virginia Tech to lead the conference in total caused turnovers. The Blue Devils are one of two ACC schools that have seven or more student-athletes with five or more caused turnovers this season.
 
Barry's Three-Game Tear
Junior midfielder 
Catriona Barry scored 12 goals in Duke's three-game span versus Northwestern, Wofford and Navy. Versus Northwestern, Barry set a career high with four goals. In the following two games, Barry matched her mark and netted four in each.
 
Barry's 17 goals this season are more than any single season in her career and rank fifth in the ACC. In addition, she already toppled her single-season record for points, as she sits at 20 through the first six games of 2020. Her 58 career points tie for 46th in the Duke charts.
 
Shooting Our Shot
The Blue Devils are one of the most efficient teams in the country in the attacking third. Duke is averaging 19.67 goals per game in 2020, ranking third nationally and second in the ACC. Duke ranks second in the country and first in the ACC in both shots per game (38.33) and shots on goal per game (30.33).
 
Sharing The Wealth
Duke's 12 assists versus George Washington on Feb. 22 were the most in a single game this season and tied for eighth most in Duke history. With 21 goals and 12 assists, the Blue Devils scored 33 points in the game against the Colonials, ranking tied for ninth with the most points earned in a contest in program lure.
