DURHAM, N.C. – Baseball America recently ranked the top 25 baseball coaching hires since 2000 and Duke head coach
Chris Pollard came in at No. 12.
Â
Prior to Pollard's arrival, Duke hadn't been to a regional since 1961 and had finished over .500 in conference play just once since 1963. After taking over the reins in 2012, Pollard has led the Blue Devils to the postseason in three of the last four full seasons, with back-to-back super regional appearances in 2018 and 2019.
Â
While in Durham, Pollard has 245 wins to his name, six 30-plus win seasons, and has coached three all-americans and 12 all-conference selections. Pollard has also seen 27 players drafted during his Duke tenure, including
Bryce Jarvis who became the highest draft pick in Blue Devil history at No. 18 just this past June.
