NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Duke track & field team kicked off the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge on Thursday with the women's pentathlon at New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory.
The Blue Devils were represented by freshman 
Elasia Campbell, freshman 
Lara Kohlenbach, junior 
Kate Kutzer and sophomore 
Isabel Wakefield.
The slate of events began with the 60m hurdles, where Campbell and Wakefield finished in second and third place, respectively. Campbell set a personal record with a time of 8.71.
Campbell carried over that performance to the high jump, where she placed first in clearing 1.73m.
The Blue Devils had two top-five finishers in the shot put, with Kutzer and Wakefield placing third and fourth, respectively. 
The events concluded with the 800m, where Wakefield clocked a personal-best time of 2:26.08. 
Three of the top-five total scores on the day were representing Duke in the 11-person field – Wakefield in third (3,753), Kutzer in fourth (3,577) and Campbell in fifth (3,575).
Duke will resume competition on Friday morning, with the first event beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET.
