What has been your favorite rowing memory?
KN: One of my favorite rowing memories is from the V4+ freshman year. We were the only boat to make it to finals of the Southeast Youth Championships from our team that year and in the last 10 strokes, we were able to cross the finish line in third place. It was really special because it helped us secure a spot to Youth Nationals, where we were the first boat to represent our team at Nationals in three years. It was an amazing feeling to cross the finish line and know that we were going to continue on to Florida.
How did you get started in rowing?
KN: I got started rowing mostly because all of my brothers rowed and it was expected that I would at least try it out for a season. I didn't expect to fall in love with the sport the way I did.
Why did you choose Duke?
KN: I chose Duke because of its high level of academic excellence, as well as the competitive, supportive nature of the crew team.
