DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke men's soccer season is just over a month away and the Blue Devils are gearing up for another exciting season. Get to know a little bit about incoming freshman Cameron Kerr before he takes the field as a Blue Devil.
The last name might seem familiar and yes, he is related to head coach John Kerr. Cameron is Kerr's oldest son and played his soccer for NC Fusion Academy. This past season, Cameron started 20 of the 24 games he played for the Fusion as a midfielder. In the 2017-18 campaign, he started 25 games and notched a pair of goals.
Prior to joining the NC Fusion Academy, Cameron suited up for Chapel Hill High School and helped the Tigers to the state finals. He scored five goals and provided 20 assists as the playmaker for the squad.
Kerr is joined by incoming freshman Scotty Taylor in a small, but talented rookie class in 2019. In addition, his twin sister, Alex, will be a freshman on the Vanderbilt women's soccer team.
