FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Duke wrestling wrapped up the final day of the South Beach Duals on Monday when it faced off against two nationally ranked foes in No. 14 Lehigh and No. 15 Minnesota.

The Blue Devils fell 47-4 to the Mountain Hawks before dropping a 53-0 decision to the Gophers.

Duke faced nine top-20 wrestlers on the day, including Minnesota's Gable Steveson and Mitch McKee, who are ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, by InterMat.

For the second consecutive dual redshirt freshman and 174-pounder Mason Eaglin earned Duke's only points on the day when he took down Lehigh's Kent Lane by major decision, 10-2.

Against the Mountain Hawks, redshirt sophomore Benjamin Anderson had a battle at 165-pounds as the match went down to the final seconds before he fell, 8-7. In Duke's dual with Minnesota, the Blue Devils had to face off against five of those nine ranked opponents during its South Beach Dual finale.

The Blue Devils will have Bryson Neace (149-pound division), Drake Doolittle (125-pound division), Brandon LaRue (149-pound division), Wyatt Pfau (157-pound division) and Josh Finesilver competing at the Southern Scuffle to kick off the New Year (Jan. 1 and 2). Finesilver will be the No. 8 seed at the 149-pound division, while the other three head into the tournament unseeded. Every match of the 2020 Southern Scuffle can be followed live via Flowrestling.
