DURHAM, N.C. – Both Duke swimming and diving teams reached their highest rankings in program history in the most recent College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) national poll released on Wednesday, Nov. 13. The women's team were placed 11th and the men's side are ranked No. 15.
"We are ecstatic with seeing the swimming community recognize our performances and particularly the success we had last weekend," Duke head swimming and diving coach
Dan Colella said. "I am excited for the team and the work that they have put in so far and hope this continues to motivate them."
After a dominating weekend in Massachusetts which featured the Blue Devils going undefeated against Boston College, Dartmouth, UConn, Harvard and the Texas A&M men's side, the women jumped four spots since the Oct. 23 poll. The men enter the poll for the first time this season.
The women's national ranking of No. 11 is the highest in program history after finishing last season at No. 12 in the final CSCAA rankings. The men reached No. 15, their highest mark in the CSCAA poll in program history. This is the first time the Blue Devil men have been ranked since Nov. 23, 2016 when the Duke men checked in at No. 22.
Duke, along with NC State and Louisville, are the only ACC schools to have both programs men's and women's side in the top-15 of the CSCAA rankings. NC State's programs both check in at seventh. Louisville sits at ninth in the men's and 12th in the women's rankings.
Next up for the Blue Devils is the GAC Wolfpack Invitational in Greensboro, N.C., Nov. 21-23. At the meet, Duke will take on No. 7/7 NC State, No. 23/13 Auburn, No. 24/19 Wisconsin and No. 14/RV Arizona State.
