DURHAM, N.C. – Duke swimming and diving senior
Alyssa Marsh of the Duke swimming and diving team was named the Duke Student-Athlete of the Week, after contributing 27 points in Saturday's meet against the No. 12 Georgia Bulldogs.
"
Alyssa Marsh is well deserving of this honor," head coach
Dan Colella said. "She's been a tremendous contributor to this program for the last four years and has started her senior campaign undefeated in the pool. We are thrilled for her and looking forward to continued success in the coming months."
The Davidson, N.C., native finished first in each event she competed in, three individual events and one relay. In the meet's first swimming event, the 200 medley relay, Marsh swam the third leg and helped her relay top the side in 1:39.44. That time placed the relay team of
Emma Shuppert,
Halle Morris, Marsh and
Melissa Pish ninth in Duke history in the event.
Marsh's three individual victories came in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Her time of 22.62 in the 50 freestyle and 53.43 in the 100 butterfly were both NCAA B cut times.
Duke swimming and diving has a week hiatus before returning to action with back to back road meets in Massachusetts on Nov. 8-9.
