KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Duke softball continued its fall season on Sunday afternoon as it jumped out in control of Tennessee to a 7-1 lead in the first 8 innings but fell short in 10 innings.
"We absolutely dominated Tennessee both offensively and defensively for eight innings," head coach Marissa Young said. "Peyton St. George was lights-out, striking out eight through six innings. Our bats were on fire tallying 14 hits with two Blue Devils collecting their first collegiate homeruns in BIG fashion."

Morris followed suit, knocking a two out single up the middle to score senior Raine Wilson. In the seventh, sophomore Deja Davis recorded an RBI with a groundball to second base, scoring junior Kendyl Lange. Later in the inning, a Wilson ground out brought junior Rachel Abboud home and gave Duke a 6-1 lead heading into the eighth.
