DURHAM, N.C. – Junior Graeme Stinson earned yet another preseason honor Monday morning, garnering 2019 D1Baseball Preseason All-America first team distinction.
The recognition is Stinson's third 2019 preseason All-America nod, after the Norcross, Ga., native also earned a spot on the Collegiate Baseball second team and the Perfect Game/Rawlings third team. Stinson is one of only three ACC players tabbed to the D1Baseball's first team, joining North Carolina's Michael Busch and Florida State's Drew Parrish.
As a sophomore in 2018, Stinson made 23 appearances and four starts, posting a 5-1 record and a 1.89 ERA. The 6-5 southpaw recorded 98 strikeouts in 62.0 innings of work, averaging a team-best 14.3 strikeouts per nine innings. In his fourth start of the season, Stinson picked up the win over Texas Tech in the Lubbock Super Regional, tossing 6.0 scoreless innings, while allowing just five hits and striking out six.
Over the summer, Stinson was named to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, striking out 10 batters in six innings while scattering two hits and five walks across three appearances.
Entering the spring, Stinson is the fourth-rated player on Baseball America's list Top 50 college prospects for the 2019 draft.
Stinson and the Blue Devils begin the 2019 season Feb. 15-17 with a three-game series at home against Lehigh.
